He played and won five matches over two days to win the title. It is of no surprise to many because during his time at our club he continued to amaze club members and opponents with his accuracy. Well done Alan from all your friends at Bristol Greenbank.

County Two Rink Finals at Cotswold Bowls Club 12th September 2010
Greenbank Bowls Club along with Wotton under Edge, Frampton on Severn and Cheltenham Whaddon travelled to Cotswold Bowls Club on Sunday for the semi finals and finals of the County Two Rink Cup.
We played Wotton under Edge in a closely fought game in the morning, ending in a win by 2 shots for us, 1 winning rink and 1 losing rink. Cheltenham Whaddon secured their place in the final with a win over Frampton on Severn.
The semi final team consisted of rink (1) Robin Glass, Mike Keating, Gerry Coffield & Geoff Wilkins, rink (2) Graham Hudd, Lee Peacock, John Ind & Pete Bennett.
In the final against Cheltenham Whaddon a couple of changes were made, namely Robin decided to step down and was replaced with Chris Lowden and Lee and John changed places, with Lee going to three and John to two.
Again it was a very closely fought game ending with a win by 7 shots for Greenbank!!!
It must be pointed out that it was a superb team effort in both matches that led to Greenbank becoming County Two Rink Champions and a big thank you should go the Dave Bennett and Steve Andrews who came as travelling reserves and have both been an important part of the team in the previous games.
I must point out that the facilities at Cotswold are superb, especially the bowls green, a worthy venue for a County finals.
Winning the County Two Rink along with the Lloyd Cup has made this a very successful and satisfying season for Greenbank.
Richard Turvey, John Ind & Gerry Coffield –selectors.
Warners Champion of Champions 2010
The Warners Leisure Hotels hold a series of bowls breaks in the winter months at their four venues.
For many years members from Greenbank have entered fours in the March tournament. It is not unusual for a Greenbank four to win this event and be invited back for the Champion of Champions tournament.
This year was no exception. David Bailey, Chris Lowden, Steve Andrews and Gerry Coffield qualified for the finals in October. The foursome cheered on by their wives won the £3000 first prize together with the Champion of Champions trophy. The presentation was made by English International Andy Thompson.
